A gorgeous vintage 1930’s slip procured by my mother in an Arkansas vintage store, recalling old fashioned romance. At first I thought to paint directly on it, but after it hung in my closet for a good while, I thought maybe it could be something else.

I started with a long piece of raw canvas rolled onto my favorite table, and I climbed onto to table kneeling over the canvas and started to fill in the blank space with my signature floral blooms. Further inspired I used sliver leaf and crayola crayons and add color and texture to the florals. I sewed the dress onto the un stretched canvas, finally putting a brooch onto the bodice with a few sparkle beads from an old necklace I had… and the piece was complete!!
